Porto Marghera: new business agreement keeps cracking running

24 September 2015 - 11:00 AM CEST

San Donato Milanese (MI), 24 September 2015 - Versalis (Eni) announced today an ethylene supply agreement with a new international partner involving the Porto Marghera (Venice) cracker. The agreement between the two partners has been reached based on both the favourable market conditions and Versalis’ constant seeking new business opportunities.

Based on the agreement, supply is planned to commence in October 2015 and continue throughout 2016, to the benefit of the plants at Mantova, Ferrara and Ravenna which are linked to Porto Marghera through logistic infrastructures of primary importance.

Concurrently, the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding regarding the plant transformation process signed on 14 November 2014 at the Ministry for Economic Development with institutions and trade unions will remain unchanged. In particular, the strengthening of the logistics system is confirmed, as well as the technological development and construction of a new integrated renewable chemical platform in partnership with the American company Elevance Renewable Sciences.
