REFENCE® is the innovative range of mechanically recycled polymers designed for applications in direct contact with food. This new product family enriches the Versalis Revive® portfolio, expanding the opportunities for mechanical recycling and is intended for polystyrene food packaging, such as yogurt cups, meat and fish trays, and other rigid and expanded packaging solutions.
Developed in collaboration with Forever Plast of Lograto (Brescia), an Italian company leading in post-consumer plastic recycling, the production of REFENCE® grades is made possible by the NEWER® technology, developed in the Versalis laboratories in Mantua and implemented in Forever Plast's facilities.
This technology ensures the purification of recycled polymers in compliance with EU Regulation 1616/2022 and has obtained the Non-Objection Letter (NOL) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
