In particular, our technological platforms have been developed to enable increasingly sustainable industrial production, from the laboratory phase through to in-plant application. In this context, our most innovative proprietary catalysts play a key role, particularly those based on zeolites, which are key elements of some of our most advanced licensed technologies.
Titanium Silicalite-1 / Silicalite-1 Catalyst
The TS1 Titanium Silicalite catalyst is one of the most important innovations of the last decade in heterogeneous catalysis. It enables various chemical transformations based on the oxidation reaction with hydrogen peroxide, under mild reaction conditions and minimising the formation of by-products, such as in the production of caprolactam (used, for example, in the production of polyamide fibres such as nylon). Thanks to these catalysts, for the first time in the world we were able to eliminate the co-production of waste salts, outperforming previous technologies.
The PBE-1 catalyst is a high-performance composite material specifically designed for the synthesis of cumene and ethylbenzene within fixed-bed reactors, the result of long-term integrated research with our direct experience in both cumene and ethylbenzene production. In this technological platform, we are proud to be among the first in the world to realise the production of cumene by means of zeolite-based, fully regenerable catalysts.
The PBE-2 catalyst is a high-performance composite material specifically designed for the trans-alkylating phase of industrial ethylbenzene synthesis in fixed-bed reactors. It is the result of long-term integrated research with our direct experience in the production of industrial ethylbenzene. PBE-2 is a zeolite Y-based catalyst with unmatched performance in the trans-alkylation reaction of polyethylbenzenes due to its unique combination of extra zeolite and zeolite properties.
PBE-1 and PBE-2 are not available on the market and are directly supplied to our licensees together with ethylbenzene (for PBE-1 and PBE-2) and cumene (for PBE-1).
Ziegler Natta catalyst
Our technological platform called ZN - Ziegler Natta is suitable for ethylene polymerisation and copolymerisation reactions. It pioneered the production of different grades of polyethylene-based plastics, characterised by high quality in their various market applications.
