Experience

A civil engineer, Monica Spada holds an MBA in Management & Economics of Energy & Environment from Eni Corporate University.

Over the course of 18 years at Eni S.p.A., she has held senior managerial positions across several of the Group’s business areas.

In June 2024, she joined Versalis, Eni’s chemical company, as Head of Circular Economy, Sustainability and Strategic Marketing. In 2025, she also took on the role of Global Chief Commercial Officer, with responsibility for all the company’s commercial activities, including marketing, sales and technical product development.

From November 2021 to June 2024, she served as Eni’s Head of Research & Technological Innovation.

Previously, she was Head of Portfolio Optimisation and Oil & Products Supply within Eni’s Green/Traditional Refining & Marketing department.

She also led the Bio-Development, Sustainable Mobility and Circular Economy area and was responsible for coordinating the Long-Term Positioning Initiative, with a particular focus on activities related to carbon neutrality.

Her earlier experience leading the Office of the Chief Executive Officer enabled her to develop broad, cross-functional expertise in the energy sector.

She currently serves on the Boards of Directors of several companies, including EniRewind, Novamont, Finproject, Lotte Versalis Elastomers Co. and Corepla.

From 2018 to 2024, she also served on the Board of Directors of the Milazzo Refinery.

From 2020 to 2024, she served as Chair of OMC – Med Energy Conference & Exhibition, an event dedicated to sharing technical knowledge and expertise to support the development of sustainable energy sources in the Mediterranean region.

In 2024, she also served as Chair of the Advisory Board of MOST – National Centre for Sustainable Mobility and as Chair of the Scientific Committee of ROAD – Rome Advanced District.

Since May 2026, she has served as Chair of AGI – Agenzia Giornalistica Italiana.
