At Mantua, our largest research centre

We develop proprietary technologies and implement circular economy projects.

The Basic Chemicals and Plastics Research Centre in Mantua is our largest research centre, focusing on developing Versalis' proprietary technologies. R&D projects include:

  • styrene monomer, phenol cycle and styrenic polymers activities
  • polyethylene and EVA
  • polymeric compounds and alloys

We also provide technical support to customers and the development of applications for basic chemicals and plastic materials. In this centre, in recent years, we have been following circular economy projects related to chemical and mechanical recycling of end-of-life plastics.

In Mantua, we use advanced calculation methodologies applied to process design and proprietary equipment mechanics:

  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
